Janice Williams has practiced in the field of social work for over 39 years. Presently she is in private practice and provides clinical services for the Loraine County School District, nursing homes, as well as to individuals, children and families. Our conversation will be about the seldom discussed topic of mothers who choose their men over their daughters and the impact it has on daughters. Mrs. Williams has been the director of a National Youth Employment Program, a Female Offender Program, outpatient services for various mental health and youth services, and also served as the executive director of a YWCA in Ohio. In addition, she served as an adjunct professor for Cleveland State University. Mrs. Williams co-founded Harambee Services to Black Families, Cleveland Ohio’s first African American adoption agency, where she served as executive director for two years. Â
