S1E5 - Sex, Religion, and Hands Free Orgasms

Welcome to episode 5 of The Open Bedroom Doors Show Episode 5 with Nancy Wright. Real talk for Real Relationships.

Tune in every Thursday night at 9 PM CST for a fun look into the world of sex and sexual health presented by me, Angela Skurtu, a Licensed Marriage and Certified Sex Therapist.

Welcome to another raw and revealing episode of Open Bedroom Doors, where we strip away the shame around sex, intimacy, and identity.

🔹 Segment 1: Sex Positions
We kick off with our opening segment Sex Positions, where I share my personal take on topics shaping modern sexuality. This week’s hot topic: Orgasm Hypnosis. Is it real? Can it help? And what does it say about the connection between the mind and the body?

🔹 Segment 2: Interview with Nancy Wright
Then, I sit down with Nancy Wright, who shares her deeply personal story of growing up Mormon and how purity culture negatively impacted her relationship with sex, self-worth, and intimacy. Together, we explore the long-term effects of sexual repression—and how healing and reclaiming your pleasure is not only possible, but powerful.

🔹 Segment 3: Happy Endings
We close with our audience favorite—Happy Endings. This week’s listener question:
“How do I talk to my wife about how menopause has impacted our sex life?”
I offer honest, compassionate advice on how to start the conversation, reduce shame, and reconnect with your partner during this natural life shift.

✨ Whether you’re deconstructing old beliefs, learning to communicate better, or exploring new pathways to pleasure—this episode will speak to you.

Thanks for watching!

My Mission: Help people of all ages develop a healthier relationship with sex and change the sexual landscape for future generations by normalizing conversations about sex. Many of today’s sexual problems could have been prevented with healthy sex education. I create content that focuses on consent, boundaries, pleasure, and honest, direct conversations. I have a whole lot of fun doing it!

My Vision: To create free, medically accurate sex education through playful and wholesome sexual health content provided by a Licensed Marriage Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist. To have a great time and have a laugh. I'm creating content that is playful, fun and educational where people can learn and enjoy themselves. Sex is supposed to be fun!

Values: My company seeks to work with collaborators and sponsors with the following values in mind.
1) Lead with love, not hate. No put downs or abusing people. We’re dismantling abuse.
2) Must have a positive attitude.
3) You don’t have to have a perfect relationship with sex, but you do need to be open minded and willing to grow.
4) Respect people’s values.
5) Must have an excellent sense of humor (I have a big imagination!).

S3x is not a dirty word. It's an important part of a healthy relationship. Your whole body is capable of giving and receiving pleasure. Yet, so many of my clients are having mediocre s3x and mediocre life experiences. There's more to life than work and kids. There's way more to experience in this world. Don't you want more?

I'm Angela Skurtu and I open Bedroom doors!
