Jennifer Florax considers the basis of her writing to be her life experience with a desire to share the lessons learned with others to save them a little pain and shave some time off the learning curve.
She has a Bachelor's Degree in Management, with experience in change management and infrastructure asset management. And just for extra fun, she’s a certified esthetician.
On a personal note, she has two grown children and has been married to her husband for 29 years and counting.
Jennifer does not claim to be an expert, just a mom that is a sharer of hard lessons learned and years of experience in all sorts of work environments. She considers herself a hobby writer, with her first book, Survival Guide for the Working World purely an accident. Having recently finished university and found herself with some spare time started writing down her musings about the world around her. Once she was several topics into her ramblings, she realized she might have something worth sharing. So, the content was rewritten for public consumption. And here we are today. Jennifer’s second book, The Hunt the job of finding employment, happened much the same way. Conversations with her children spun into a learning guide for others to help with the ins and outs of finding employment.

Jordan Colbert is from Mays Landing, NJ, a small town right outside Atlantic City, NJ. After his father left at the age of four, Jordan lived with his mother and 2 of his 6 older sisters. Because of his mother's brief stint in jail and then later a significant cognitive disorder from illness, Jordan was raised by his oldest sister who placed a strong emphasis on education. It was this that helped propel him to receive a degree in Classical Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Southern California. Jordan did his clinical work in high schools and substance abuse clinics as a psychotherapist, and as a research intern at the Mindsight Institute in Los Angeles, CA. After receiving his degree, he then moved to support students with disabilities through the use of technology at USC.
Jordan is credentialed as an Assistive Technology Professional by RESNA and serves as the Associate Director of Student Accessibility Services for Yale University. He presented at multiple national conferences on the importance of assistive technology for individuals with disabilities and consulted with companies to increase their digital accessibility presence and products. Additionally, Jordan produced two audiobooks: “Up From the Bottom: A Memoir” by Isaac Ford Jr., and “Country Boy, City Boy: A Journey That Ain’t Over Yet” by James Cooley.

Why Are Military Spouses Important? The Military Spouse Experience
To learn more about why are military spouses important, please visit: http://cooleyfoundation.org/
This video covers the following subjects:
- Why are military spouses important?
- The military spouse experience
- Military spouses
- Experiences of being in the military
Daniel Garcia Payne was born and raised in San Jose, CA. He has been married for 46 years to Mary Lynn Payne and they have two daughters Rachel and Rebecca. Daniel enlisted in the Marines on the 19th of July 1973. He had the intention of only doing 4 years then getting out and using the GI bill for college. He qualified for electronics school upon completion of boot camp and became a Missile Technician with a guided missile system. At the end of his enlistment, he was offered a re-enlistment bonus to re-enlist for another four years. Daniel took advantage of the offer and remained in the Marines for another four years. At the end of that time, he was offered another re-enlistment bonus and again re-enlisted. By this time consideration of making the Marines was discussed with his wife. He stayed in and was put in for an Officers program. He was a single selection in his whole field with over two thousand applicants. Upon pinning on his bars, Daniel was the first Hispanic Chief Warrant Officer in the HAWK Guided Missile field within the Marine Corps. He remained in the Marines for a total of 23 years and retired. Among his many medals and decorations, one of the most notable was the national volunteer medal he received for his community volunteer work while serving in the Marine Corps. This was not work-related but above and beyond his job description.
Daniel is the owner of Cable Links Consulting, now CLC. He has had this business for 25 years. They provide training for Lucent, Siecor, 3-M Amp, and various other telecommunications companies. They also provide consulting services and are very active in the installation of fiber optics and high-speed copper cables. They also expanded the company to include construction and design-build. The company has been featured in Inc Magazine for the last two years as one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. and also featured in the Fresno Bee as the fastest growing company in the valley.
Daniels’ volunteer work includes being the chairman of central valley’s K-9 Fundraising Committee. He has chaired this committee for over 10 years and raised money to provide a bulletproof vest for the K-9s, bite suits for the officers, leashes, collars, and muzzle protectors. He is a volunteer for at-risk kids and underprivileged kids in the valley. He works with these kids in many capacities to include reading, sports activities, counseling, and mentoring. He has touched hundreds of kids and continues to do so today. He is involved in many Hispanic organizations speaking to Hispanic groups on the importance of education. Daniel speaks on his success and how education played a key role. He recently was the State Vice Chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Association and a member of the American Legion and was Post commander and the youngest District commander in the Valley. The post requires endless hours of volunteer work from parades to monthly dinners, special events, toys for tots, and annual stand-down days where homeless veterans have been given clothing haircuts showers and proper medical attention. Daniel volunteers at his church with the youth group and has gone to Mexico for 16 years now. They have built over thirty homes, a church, a Sunday school building, a water tower to provide water pressure, a pastor’s home, and a play park equipped with basketball hoops and soccer goalposts. Daniel also volunteers as the music leader to celebrate the recovery program for those who attend the 12-step program every Monday night and have for over 3 years now.

He was fortunate to attend one of the most prestigious high schools in the United States Brooklyn Technical High School. Dr. Freeman went on to attend and graduate from New York University and UNDNJ-Rutgers Medical School where he completed his pediatric residency training. Dr. Freeman has always sympathized with the most vulnerable among us, that is, the children. Dr. Freeman’s goal is to make sure children receive the best pediatric care possible. It is a lifelong responsibility he fully enjoys and takes very seriously.
Dr. Freeman has desired to be a pediatrician since the age of 5. One year during the Christmas season, Dr. Freeman’s father asked him a question he had never been asked before, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” He looked away confused until his father pulled him close and whispered in his ear, “doctor or lawyer?” Dr. Freeman yelled, “DOCTOR!” His father cheered, and then asked, “What kind of doctor?” Reflexively, he answered, “A baby doctor—one that takes care of kids!” Every year, his father would ask him that same question until it stuck.
Dr. Freeman’s motivation stems from his fundamental love for both children and pediatric medicine. His daily goals include educating his patients and their families about pediatric health and inspiring as many children and adolescents as he possibly can to become interested in pursuing a career in medicine.”
