Bathrobe Moments kicks off the week with the incredible TONY RODRIGUES
#GetUpNGrow
At the young age of 6, he immigrated from Portugal to the US. He faced many difficult situations growing up. Besides the obvious language barrier, Tony was brought up in a very strict & very abusive household; he had very little freedom growing up. With all of these challenges compiled, Tony became very shy, often coming across as an introvert. Feeling overwhelmed, He struggled with the desire to fit in. At one point in his teens, he faced depression and thoughts of suicide.
All this changed on his 18th Birthday when he faced death & experienced a life-altering out of body experience after having a massive car accident. He soon realized and appreciated his gift, with his new God-given gift of a "new life." Tony decided shortly thereafter that he was going to experience everything that life had to offer as he nearly died without having lived, if he were going to die tomorrow, he would live today. Being afraid of heights, translated into Skydiving. Being afraid of deep water/non-swimmer, translated into scuba diving, etc. Life is to be experienced, savored, lived, not just survived.
Tony has always been entrepreneurial and started in the real estate industry straight out of high school. Over the last 30 years, he has successfully started, owned and run several businesses such as a Real Estate Brokerage, Construction/Development Company, Real Estate Investments Co, Sports Bar/ Restaurant, Horse Farm/Equestrian Center, Strategy/Coaching Company and others. Tony is also a co-founder of a new tech/E-Commerce platform called 28thA that is set to launch and change the game in the new emerging economies. He is involved with the United Nations G100 program raising awareness and supporting gender equality. Tony has served on the Board Of Directors of a publicly traded company.
Tony has had many successes and "failures" as well. Tony believes that "failure" is an Essential part of Success, when you "fail" you learn and you only ever truly fail if you quit, You either win or you learn. In all areas of your life, it's not about how many times you fall, but how many times you get up that determines your success. Every Time we fall, we have an opportunity to #GetUpNGrow
Tony has now been involved in personal development for over 22 years. He started out like many others seeking to help himself go and grow through the challenges he faced and continues to face. Tony now uses what he's learned to help others grow through what they grow through. His journey has been long, at times arduous, and fruitful as he has learned from many mentors such as Tony Robbins, Les Brown, Jim Rohn, Wayne Dyer, Brendon Burchard, Zig Ziglar, Gary V and many others.Tony believes that it is his social responsibility to share the knowledge that he has garnered over the years. Because what good is knowledge if you don't put it to use and share that knowledge and your talents with the world.
Tony currently lives in NJ on his "gentleman's farm" with his wife and 2 boys and continues to run & Grow his Real Estate Organization with EXP Realty, manage his Real Estate portfolio and his Strategy/Coaching Practice & Masterminds. He is also a Tony Robbins Trainer with Robbins Research International; he is also a Certified High-Performance Coach & NLP Practitioner.
One of the greatest gifts we've ever been given is potential and one of the greatest gifts we can give is to tap into it and use it, for yourself and for the good of others.
Bathrobe Moments heads to the PRODUCE section w/ John E. Avocado!
John E Avocado grew up in a very Loving Home with both parents, two older sister and a younger brother. And was born and raised in the small city of Quincy, Illinois nestled on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi River. John E grew up on that river, and much of his youth was spent with his toes in the sand, if they weren’t in a pair of work boots. As the son of tradesmen his skills and knowledge grew as quickly as his hands and his mind. And much like a Modern Huck Finn, with John E.’s quick wit and sense of daring, it seemed as if there wasn’t an adventure left, or skill unknown to him, before High School was even over. And this is where the trouble began.
To escape the fate of his friends, who were older and already headed down dead end paths, John E. joined the Air Force, and spent his 18th Birthday in Basic Training. He began his enlistment as an electronics specialist fixing jets but jumped at the opportunity to re-enlisted as a C-130 Hercules Loadmaster and fly around the world to exciting and exotic locations, kicking people, vehicles, and supplies out the back door.
John E had started his first business, a Tool and Die Design Firm, well before his enlistment was up. So, after a couple of years, and a few lessons learned, it was time to move on to the next adventure. Leaving the service was a difficult transition for John E. “Returning to Basic” required a lot of time and a lot of help from those around him. So, when he came out on the other side, he decided that if there was anything he could do to help someone else, he would. And John E. Avocado was born.
A big part of that help was his wife, Kenya. Together the two of them picked up roots and left their sleepy hometown for the big city, eventually moving around the states and landing in Kansas City, Mo. Along the way John E had the opportunity to become a Family Man, a 3d Animator, Computer Coder, and Inventor.
His lifelong love of learning kept him trying to solve some of the confusion still left in his mind, and his pursuit of Positive Psychology began in earnest. He discovered that much of the information he sought could be found in the Sales and Marketing industries; and this new knowledge opened new doors that John E. quickly stepped through.
John E. now finds himself in a unique situation where he uses the power of Positive Psychology to influence the mind to affect the body, and the marvel of Virtual Reality to influence the body to affect the mind.
John E. “Makes It Happen” as a VR Specialist representing, speaking, and educating about VR and Mental Health. And he “Makes Shit Happen” as he teaches and coaches professional and personal developmental, as well as touring as a Motivational Speaker.
