In this episode of Open Bedroom Doors, we’re bringing you real talk for real relationships—with depth, humor, and just the right amount of spice.
👇 Here’s what’s inside this episode:

🎤 Segment 2: The Dangers of Devotion (Interview with Marsha Martin)
Marsha Martin joins us for a powerful conversation on devotion, leadership, and identity.
We unpack:
How over-devotion to an organization can lead to choices you’re not proud of
The fine line between commitment and losing yourself
What healthy leadership actually looks like
…and yes, we also talk about sex—because even leaders need help behind closed doors 😉
(You’ll love the part where her leadership clients end up asking for relationship advice!)

You’re not losing to better competitors—you’re losing because you surrender control with five words: “I don’t care, you pick.” That phrase is the silent killer in business, relationships, and leadership. The cold truth? If you keep avoiding real decisions, you will always be managed by someone else's agenda.
Total Disruption is the no-BS business and entrepreneurship podcast hosted by Dr. Jake Clendenning and Michael Libercci, two proven operators disarming the psychology of high-stakes decision making and explosive leadership.
The core argument of this episode: True leadership and transformative relationships demand intentional communication and disciplined ownership. The default phrase “I don’t care” is not neutral—it gives away your power, signals apathy, and ensures you operate by someone else’s standards. Decisiveness is not about controlling every outcome. It’s the disciplined act of voicing real preferences, setting boundaries, and holding yourself accountable for the environment you co-create—at work, at home, and anywhere influence matters.
The episode exposes the destructive habit of passivity, encourages a new standard for strategic communication, and delivers a framework for replacing weak language with clarity and authority. By cultivating honest dialogue—where you articulate what you want (or don’t want)—you train those around you to operate at a higher level. This is how you break free from endless compromise and mediocrity, and set the tone for exceptional leadership everywhere you go.

With more than two decades in media, business, and public speaking, Amy Scruggs has built a career around helping others find their voice. Following a deeply personal chapter as a caregiver to her father, she now shares a powerful perspective on reinvention, resilience, and redefining success in midlife—offering insight for anyone navigating both career and family in this stage of life.
Over the past year, Amy experienced one of the most profound transitions of her life—losing her father while also stepping fully into the role of caregiver. That season didn’t just change her personal life… it reshaped how she saw work, success, time, and purpose.
As Amy reintegrated back into business, she realized she is no longer operating from the same mindset she had in her 30s and 40s. This chapter—midlife, the “sandwich generation,” balancing family, legacy, and career—requires a different kind of leadership. A more intentional one.
In this conversation, Amy shares what it really looks like to:
• Rebuild professionally after deep personal loss
• Let go of outdated definitions of success
• Redesign your work to support your life—not compete with it
• Step into a more aligned, meaningful version of success in midlife

Interview with Sherwood (Woodie) Neiss
CARFiling is a purpose-built software platform that streamlines the preparation of annual reports for companies that have raised capital through Regulation Crowdfunding. Through a guided, step-by-step workflow, CARFiling helps issuers efficiently organize, compile, and prepare the information required for their Form C-AR filings.
Designed specifically for issuers, CARFiling is not a law firm or a filing agent—it’s a self-service tool that empowers companies to manage their own compliance process with clarity and confidence. By simplifying complex reporting requirements into an intuitive digital experience, CARFiling enables issuers to stay organized, reduce errors, and meet their regulatory obligations while maintaining full responsibility for their filings.
Sherwood “Woodie” Neiss is a pioneering force in regulated investment crowdfunding and a key architect behind the legislation that transformed startup investing in the United States. As co-author of the Crowdfunding Exemption Framework that became the foundation for Title III of the JOBS Act, he played a central role in legalizing equity crowdfunding—testifying before Congress, collaborating with the SEC, and participating in the White House signing ceremony. Today, Woodie continues to shape the industry as Managing General Partner at D3VC, an AI-driven venture fund, and Principal at Crowdfund Capital Advisors, where he advises governments, institutions, and platforms worldwide on building modern capital markets.
In addition to his policy and investment work, Woodie is a data innovator and thought leader in private market infrastructure. He created CCLEAR, the industry’s most comprehensive dataset tracking Regulation Crowdfunding activity, and co-founded GUARDD, a compliance and disclosure platform designed to bring transparency to private securities markets. A frequent speaker at global forums including TEDx and SXSW, and co-author of Crowdfund Investing for Dummies, he has been widely recognized as one of the most influential voices in crowdfunding. Through his work, Woodie continues to champion a future where capital formation is more transparent, inclusive, and driven by the power of communities.
What if the very symptoms you’ve been told to ignore are actually the key to unlocking your next level of performance?
In this episode of Lead Empowered TV, we sit down with Cynthia Fluck—former U.S. Naval Academy physics graduate and military officer turned holistic health practitioner and founder of Crescent Holistic Health. Cynthia brings a rare blend of scientific precision and whole-body healing to help high-achieving women who feel “off,” even when their labs say otherwise.
We dive into her unconventional journey into entrepreneurship, the hidden cost of chronic workplace stress, and why so many leaders are operating in survival mode without even realizing it. Cynthia unpacks how nervous system dysregulation impacts engagement, decision-making, and overall leadership effectiveness—and what it actually takes to restore balance.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re pushing through while something deeper is being ignored, this conversation will challenge you to stop silencing the signals and start understanding them.
What if healing isn’t about getting your old life back…
because let’s be honest...that version had some questionable settings.
Life has a way of hitting “update” without asking.
Suddenly it’s before… and after… and you’re left figuring out what actually matters.
Lisa is joined by holistic therapist and educator Briget O’Leary, who shares the H.E.A.L. Method—a powerful way to reconnect, reset, and rebuild from the inside out.
Because the real win isn’t what your life looks like…
it’s how it feels.
Ready for a better upgrade? Hit play.
You’re breathing… but are you breathing WELL?
This Tuesday on Chronic Health Collective, host Jessica Hammock sits down with special guest Eileen McDonald for a conversation that will make you rethink the thing you do 22,000 times a day without even noticing.
Your breath isn’t just “inhale, exhale, repeat.”
It may be the hidden biofeedback system revealing how your body handles stress, trauma, overwhelm, control, relationships, and even that “why am I so exhausted when my labs look normal?” mystery. Yeah… your breath has been snitching on you. Lovingly, of course.
In this episode, Jessica and Eileen unpack:
Why “just take a deep breath” may not be enough
How stress and trauma can change your breathing patterns
Why carbon dioxide may be the missing piece in healthy breathing
How posture impacts oxygen, regulation, and calm
Why sighing might actually be your body recalibrating
How your breath can affect your reactions, relationships, and resilience
And yes… Eileen can sometimes tell when people are holding their breath.
Not creepy. Just science with excellent observational skills.
If you’ve been feeling tense, reactive, overwhelmed, disconnected from your body, or stuck in survival mode, this episode is your invitation to pause, observe, and get curious.
Because your transformation may not start with doing more.
It may start with noticing the breath you already have.

What happens when one partner is carrying the emotional weight of the relationship? In this episode, Erica breaks down the “effort gap”—how it forms, why people tolerate it, and what it actually signals about compatibility and boundaries. If you’ve ever felt like you’re giving more than you’re receiving, this episode will help you get clear on your next move.
