(Pre-Recorded) Choose to Challenge - Proclaiming Independence with Women in the Arena
Tune into this Choose to Challenge Episode that airs on e360TV.com. In the United States, July 4th, is a celebration of freedom and independence. Often the catalyst that has fueled revolutions and instigated change, as been through the bold expressions captured in the spoken word or the power of the pen.
Our voice is an instrument that can resound with beauty and love or be filled with anger and hate. It's an instrument that can create calm or disruption depending on the player.
Let's imagine that we align this instrument with a purpose that is higher than ourselves. Imagine if we set aside ego and began to play melodies that created shifts and changes to create a better world for those we encountered.
Imagine, if we paused each time we decided to pick up our instrument and thought carefully about the song we were about to play.
LaWanna Bradford (The Bradford Group/The Bradford Group Consulting) guest Audra Agen explore using your voice for impact, just as those who signed the United State's Declaration of Independence, and what it means to be a Woman in the Arena.

Audra Agen is a corporate veteran with 25 years’ experience of being one of the few women in the room, and in many cases, the only one. While the women may have been outnumbered, they were all uniquely exceptional. She became fascinated learning more about them and their experiences. It became increasingly clear that these women were contributing significant value to their organizations, families and careers. Their contributions were either being taken for granted or overlooked, sometimes even by themselves. Audra aspired to change that; from that, Women in the Arena was created. It’s a platform unlike any other- it’s a celebration. The motto is to celebrate women doing extraordinary things in plain sight.
Audra believes that if we start to recognize the value within ourselves, then we can start to acknowledge the value within each other. We start to see that we have more similarities than what appears on the surface. It is that knowledge that begins to change the narrative from “you are my competition” to “you are my best asset. This is life changing and as a result, world changing. This is Audra’s goal, to change the world one interview at a time through her podcast Women in the Arena

Transformation Comes When Standing in the Gap with Serena Bufalino
Tune into Choose to Challenge on 4/11/22 at 6PM EST on e360TV and FB Live. Host LaWanna Bradford (The Bradford Group/The Bradford Group Consulting) and Serena Bufalino (Celebrate You April Woman of the Month) are going to explore the metamorphosis that occurs to an individual when they stand in the gap for those in need.
With all that is going on in our lives and in the world, it is easy to deflect the bridge building responsibility to someone else. Our packed schedules and competing priorities equip us with plausible excuses as to why we cannot step up and roll up our sleeves. However, what if we ceased with the excuses and looked at the possibilities. What if we let go of our limited thinking that tells us that to move the needle, we personally need to have massive amounts of resources. What if we could remove our blinders and let go of our biases, and see that when we join a collective, our little becomes multiples exponentially.
So often we look at what we are doing for others and we have a sense of satisfaction knowing that we are making a difference in someone's life. Yet imagine we paused long enough to see that the greatest transformation is happening within our own life. Then we can embrace the fact that we have become the change we wish to see in the world.

Serena has taught in detention centers, mental health hospitals, and group homes. In 2011, the Haiti School Building Project was born, when her Section 23 students, insisted “Miss B, you say we can do anything, so let’s build a school.” In partnership with John Callaghan of Third World Awareness over $100,000 was fundraised and a school in Canaan, Haiti for one hundred students was constructed.
Today, Serena, alongside a group of global movers and shakers, runs Help Heal Humanity and intends to change the world one “yes” at a time. Serena holds a BA from McMaster University.

Mental Health Matters - Navigating the Workplace with Teresa Wright Johnson
Tune into Choose to Challenge on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 6PM EST airing on e360TV.com and streaming to FB, Roku, AppleTV and SamsungTV.
LaWanna Bradford (The Bradford Group/The Bradford Group Consulting) and CEO of TWJME, Teresa Wright Johnson will discuss navigating the mental health journey in the workplace.
This month is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month and part of the conversation is to change the narrative around mental health and address critical areas of concern and the impacts on Black and brown communities. LaWanna and Teresa will delve into workplace and business ills such as stressors and micro aggressions that many people of color make. Though traditional places of employment typically have programs such as Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and insurance coverage that one can tap in for mental wellness concerns, very often minorities do not cry out for the help they need. The situation grows graver when the lens is focused on the self-employed ranks.
Mental health matters are not just a hashtag, but a clarion cry for everyone to rise and take part in changing the narrative and creating the resources and healthcare pipeline programs for all communities. We must “get loud” about mental health and make the conversation as common place as when we talk about physical wellness.
Teresa Wright Johnson is a true community connector and advocate. She has a passion to help the community, children, and families. Career wise Teresa has worked in the customer service, business, education, and social work field. She has worked for / with companies such as Macy’s, The Marriott, The High Museum, Sprint, Parent to Parent of Georgia, Georgia Department of Children and Family Services, various Schools, and Agencies. Teresa enjoys working with both children and adults.
