She began her career in high school as the school newspaper editor. She then went to Rutgers University and hosted her school's radio show while majoring in broadcast journalism. After graduation, Sharrarne worked in politics and then ran for state senate. She was invited to speak on TV and what was meant to be a one-time appearance to provide commentary on the Iraq war, turned into a 14-year stint where Sharrarne was a popular and regular commentator on an ABC news affiliate in Washington, DC. As a television commentator, Sharrarne was presented with numerous opportunities to speak and write about politics, the power of media, small business ownership, women’s health and empowerment, race relations, and so much more. While commentating, Sharrarne launched Morton Media where she began to produce and host TV and radio shows as well as produce and voiceover dozens of commercials. Sharrarne has spoken on numerous panels and has been featured on many platforms to include ABC7, TV One, Black Enterprise, the Washington Post, and many others. Sharrarne produces and hosts two national shows on SiriusXM Radio with a nationwide audience. Additionally, she coaches small businesses all over the U.S. on how to get to that next level of success leveraging the power of media. Sharrarne launched Black Door Society (BDS) in 2021. BDS connects high-profile women of color to other high-profile women in order to share access to high net worth and high network opportunities that increase wealth and build legacy. Sharrarne was born and raised in Washington, DC and moved to Maryland as an adult. She has two adult children and is a 30-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc."
