Shawna Cook is the grandmother of Hillis, wife of 29 years, and mother of 3. She works full-time as a nurse and volunteers with Hydrocephalus Association as Chair for the St. Pete Walk to End Hydrocephalus. Shawna's grandson was born last March with Hydrocephalus and had his first surgery just one week after birth. It was a difficult time for the family, as this was her son and daughter-in-law's first child and grandchild for their families.
Shawna began to do some research on hydrocephalus and in her study found the Hydrocephalus Association. Shawna began to learn everything she could to help her son with this new diagnosis but also because her new grandchild would be living with this condition. Shawna had heard of hydrocephalus before but really didn't know how it would affect her grandson and what the impact would be on her family. The HA opened up a whole new community, resources, education, and research geared toward hope and finding a cure for Hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus is a condition where the ventricles in the brain become enlarged due to the accumulation of CSF that is not being drained into the body, therefore, putting pressure on the brain. Currently, a shunt is the only treatment. Shawna's grandson lives with Hydrocephalus as do so many others and she is passionate for this cause.

Energy Work Unleashed: Stories of Healing & Transformation S1E22
As a child, I was a product of a divided and chaotic home. I didn’t realize how chaotic it was or I was until I started my own personal growth journey. This journey has been ongoing for almost 2 decades. It has not been an easy journey by any means. There is a lot of hard work, tears, joy, and “coming to Jesus” moments.
I have spent the last 15 years working on and perfecting this formula for myself as well as a variety of other personal growth education, which has led to a lot of insight that my clients have found extremely useful, has built 2 businesses, saved marriages, changed suicidal tendencies, helped clients through trauma, and much more.
I use a 5 step program that includes Self-Ownership, Self-Leadership, Self-Awareness, Effective Communication, and Trailblazing skills to help people find their true paths, internal peace & happiness, and healthy relationships.

S5Ep14 A Warriors Story about Neuro Diverse ADHD and Dyslexia
In this episode of Make Mental Health Matter Kelli chats with Warrior Dr. Paige Roberts.
She experiences neuro diverse-ADHD and dyslexia. This created suicidal ideation from elementary school around being stupid. Then she suffered 3 bad concussions at age 7, 18 and 22. Fell off a slide, a swim team school bus rolled and then a car accident. When she was 16 she had an abusive cross country-track coach who instructed all of the athletes to starve themselves, so she developed an eating disorder. She entered into a mentally and physically abusive relationship at 23 which took 5 years to finally get out of.
She started therapy at 17 and had to navigate ADD meds which became complicated with the concussions. She then found a trauma reprocessing therapy which helped more than talk therapy called Brainspotting, where she went on to become a clinical social worker in sports using this same therapy on her athlete clients. She started her practice 10 years ago now. But still does bimonthly Brainspotting and various other biohacking health practices to keep herself at optimal mind, body and spirit health.
