I had a friend who told me she had a heart attack because she sneezed. This friend was in her 60's. When Kisha told me that she had a heart attack at 31, I couldn't believe it. She was healthy, athletic, and in the prime of her life.
Both heart attacks were due to SCAD, which some doctors have never heard of. Both people had a tear in the lining of their arteries. Both could have been fatal. This is not something that can necessarily be detected, but the signs can alert you to get help. Kisha's story is incredible. Not only did she survive her heart attack, but she went back to get her nursing degree. She through herself into her career and then had another wake up call. Rachel Barwell used to call herself "clumsy" as a child. Little did she know that she suffered from something called dyspraxia. She only found out later in life that this is something that be helped with specialized learning methods.
Rachel started her career as an adult educator in corporate, prisons and indigenous environments where she learned that a large percentage of people who struggled with learning had dyslexia or other learning differences. She began to specialize in this and is making a huge difference for people who never thought they would be able to read.
Imagine being a 69 year old successful politician who hid her dyslexia until Rachel taught her how to read. Imagine children who no longer drop out of school and end up in the prison system because they have learned to read.

"There's nothing you can't do," is Linda's motto. At 77, she is getting ready to publish her third book. And she is modest. She won't brag about how she saved a man's life, sat with a dying young boy, started a singing group that sang to the soldiers going off to war, and had a few near death experiences.
They are just part of her story. It's just normal for her. At 13 she started a daycare in her neighborhood. And 64 years later she is still writing, starting businesses, and helping other people.

Linda was born in Manhattan, New York. She spent her childhood growing up in Brooklyn, New York. Lynnie's mother and aunt are artists. Lynnie gravitated towards art throughout her life, but didn't think she was allowed to be an artist. Her father did not think it was a practical career.. Lynnie studied journalism, advertising and then social work instead.

Lynnie Sterba creates paintings as reflections of her passion involving her inner spiritual and objective analysis of the subject. Separated from her family at age 3, Teresa learned a valuable lesson from her grandmother. Meryl Sher has been involved with opera since age 13. Her voice is her gift. Despite some challenges throughout her career, Meryl has never given up. Her motto is to "Be Unstoppable, Keep Following Your Passion and Pursuing Your Dream.
