As early as his freshman year in high school he broke an ankle and tore ligaments; in college, more torn ligaments including his MCL (medial collateral ligament), and then, a serious car accident-causing lower lumbar injury threatened to permanently limit his mobility. He fought hard to rebound and recover using conventional modes of physical therapy and was inspired to choose a fitness and health career path, eventually earning a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.

Bio:
Jeff was born & raised in Ft Collins, CO. After HS, he traveled with a group called Up with People - an internationally known performance group - that took him all over the US and Europe for a year in 1996. Jeff married Catherine (Jr HS sweethearts) in 1999 and they moved to Colorado Springs, CO where they’ve enjoyed living and raising their 3 kids. Jeff is a hydrowarrior - an honorary title for anyone with hydrocephalus. Jeff was born with hydrocephalus and has had (as of 2023) 7 brain surgeries, and 6 other related surgeries because of the condition. In 2018, during a follow-up appointment after one of his recent brain surgeries, Jeff & his wife were sitting in the exam room waiting for the neurosurgeon to come in when overheard a family in the next room and the tone of the conversation sounded like they may have been getting the news that their child was going to have brain surgery. That's when Jeff decided to form a company to help families with hydrocephalus. It took a couple years to get the specifics figured out, but in May, 2022, Hydro with Hope was launched. Our mission at Hydro with Hope is to provide the hydrocephalus community with tangible help and encouragement through online and in-person resources. We also endeavor to increase awareness of hydrocephalus and normalize hydrocephalus-related vocabulary for friends and family of hydrowarriors. One of those resources is a journal we published in early 2023 called "My Hydrowarrior Story". It's a fill-in-the-blank journal designed to walk hydrowarriors and their families through from that first moment of, "my baby's going to have to have WHAT kind of surgery?" to the hospital stay, going home, and beyond. We are excited to get this journal into the hands of every single family living with hydrocephalus. The newest resource we offer is a TV show called “Invisible Condition”. On the show, we chat with amazing individuals who live with all those conditions that you can’t see from the outside – because they’re invisible. We have had amazing guests living and thriving with everything from Hydrocephalus, Multiple Sclerosis, and epilepsy to schizophrenia, POTS, and Fibromyalgia. We also have incredible organizations on the show from around the world who help those with invisible conditions live better lives. Bio: Just shy of her 40th birthday, Julie looked around her life and wondered, “Is this all there is for me?” She worked a job she hated, living in a city she longed to leave, and her marriage was falling apart. After decades of struggling with people-pleasing, over-giving and low self-esteem, the end of her marriage in 2005 was her wake up call to make some major changes. Over the next 10 years she read every self-help book she could get her hands on. She slowly started becoming aware of unhealthy habits and patterns. In 2015 Julie hired a Life Coach to help her delve deeper into what beliefs were holding her back from going after what she truly wanted in life. She dreamed of being financially abundant, working for herself, trusting in herself and being in a healthy relationship. While working with her coach, Julie started coaching herself as she picked up quickly on the process and soon recognized that coaching was something that came naturally to her and that it was a career path that she could pursue. She loved working with people (25 years in Sales) and had always been that person that friends and colleagues could come to for non-judgmental advice. In 2016 she earned her Life Coaching (ICF) certification and quickly began working with clients. Julie was always working with a coach herself as she believed in the process. However, she noticed a pattern for herself AND her clients: Once she stopped working with a particular coach, (or when her clients completed their program with Julie) although progress was always made during their time together, she still was finding the same patterns / habits popping up in her life (and her clients did too). She thought there had to be a way to make REAL change... Change that lasted. That's when she started reading books by Dr. Joe Dispenza, Bruce Lipton, and Gregg Braden learning about epigenetics, and how the brain and body work. She also learned about how powerful the subconscious mind is and that it runs 95% of our daily thoughts, feelings and actions. It's also where all of our core programming (ie. core beliefs) is stored that we acquired from 0-7 years old. And that we can't access the subconscious from a conscious state. With this new information under her belt, Julie began her own meditation practice using the guided meditations of Dr. Joe Dispenza. She also became a Certified Hypnotherapist.
