Diana's Mission: Everyone dreams of a better life, but very few dream of a better life for others. Years in a career as a music/piano educator (pic) I have tried to inspire and motivate children. As a previous owner of a music school in Dallas, TX I have faced many opportunities to help out families who couldn’t afford lessons but their child wanted to stay in the classes. It always felt good doing an act of kindness and overlook the financials as long as I could bring joy to a child. After having 2 children of my own, all I could think is… “How can I put these amazing smiles on the faces of all children?” Furthermore, participating in several fundraisers in the Dallas area along the years, I have realized that there is so much more that could be done for the children and families coming from less fortunate backgrounds. So many amazing organizations involved, so many volunteers for this amazing cause, I wanted to be one of them (pics). And what better place than my birth country, Romania, where sadly there is no shortage of children and families in need. Coming from a broken family myself, with an alcoholic father that my mom left when I was 3 years old and who died from his addiction at age 39 when I was only 10 years old, grew up during communism with a single mother and the help of my grandparents. I remember being mostly with my grandparents as my mom had to take on 2 jobs to support us, so she was mostly working. Since money in education was, and sadly still is very little, she took on the 3rd job, which gave us even less time together. Although her physical presence was missing, it was the only way she could give me a better life. It brings me no greater fulfillment than to try to gather whatever means necessary to offer children way more unlucky than I was, the same chance in life. The chance to go to school, dressed, with full tummies, with a loving cozy place to call home to go to, a chance to graduate, get a university degree, create a normal life and hopefully inspire them with my story to do good when their turns come.
