#HealIt S4EP13 | Heal it Through Ethical Consumption | Dr John Sanbonmatsu & Ken D Foster
Philosopher and author John Sanbonmatsu joins the show to challenge one of the most deeply held cultural beliefs: that eating animals is natural, necessary, and ethical. Drawing from his provocative new book The Omnivore’s Deception, Sanbonmatsu explores the myths surrounding meat consumption, the moral and ecological costs of animal agriculture, and the urgent need to rethink our relationship with nonhuman animals.
From the latest science on animal consciousness to the risks of zoonotic pandemics, he offers a compelling case for ending our dependence on meat—not just for the planet’s health, but for our own. With sharp insight and a touch of contrarian flair, Sanbonmatsu dismantles the arguments for humane slaughter, carnivore diets, and the supposed difficulty of vegan living.
Tune in for a bold, eye-opening conversation that asks us to reconsider what we eat—and why it matters.
