What was the genesis of the title “ Adversity incites talent that in more prosperous days would lay dormant” What does this title mean? Is this title applicable today? Biography James J. Johns II is the son of Lillian Saxon and James J. Johns (who was a Tuskegee Airman). He was born at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines on December 7, 1951. His family moved to Colorado in 1958. He attended Stedman Elementary, Smiley Jr. High and graduated from East High School in 1969. He was drafted into military service during the Vietnam War and entered the Airforce in 1971 where he became an Aircraft Mechanic. After he was Honorably discharged, he was hired at United Airlines in 1976 and retired after a 42-year career as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician and Union Representative. He wears many hats: He loves fishing, singing, golfing, and is an experienced craftsman and carpenter, and is known as “The Ebony Craftsman,”. However, above all, he loves the Lord and his family deeply. He has been married to his beautiful wife Zan for 28 years, and is father to his children Delisa, Jennifer, Jerron, Kelli, and Ashley, and is the proud grandfather of 8.
