S3 E41 - Revolutionizing Investment with Planet Positive Opportunities
Interview with Mark Perlmutter
Mark Perlmutter is a long-time entrepreneur, crowdfunding pioneer, and impact investor dedicated to using business as a force for social and environmental change. He is the Founder and CEO of the Vegan Investing Club, a community that has brought together more than 29,000 values-aligned investors to support vegan and climate-positive startups through crowdfunding. By enabling everyday people to invest as little as $100, Mark has helped channel collective capital toward companies working to slow climate change while creating opportunities to “do well by doing good.” He is also the founder of VegReady, a food innovation company developing shelf-stable, plant-based meals that make healthy eating more accessible.
Mark has been active in alternative finance and advocacy for over three decades. He co-founded a citizen lobbying effort that directly contributed to the crowdfunding provisions of the 2012 JOBS Act, and produced the first CrowdFunding World Summit, bringing together policymakers, investors, and innovators from around the world. Earlier in his career, he founded the MicroAngels Institute, educating thousands on affinity and cause-based investing, and co-founded Direct IPO, an early experiment in online capital formation. A committed vegan and speaker on crowdfunding and social good, Mark continues to champion a future where aligned investors help fund the companies shaping a more sustainable and ethical economy.
