In Julie Ryan's book, Angelic Attendants, Julie describes what happened when her mother was dying. There were angels, spirits, pets, and family members all around her. As Julie began to see more people die, she developed a chart. Sort of like an organizational chart, except it is for death.
It's almost hard to believe, but Julie says it with such conviction that it's hard not to think, hmmmmm, maybe this is true. She wrote this book, Angelic Attendants, to give people comfort as their loved ones are dying. It can also alleviate our fear about dying as well.
Julie was called to be the person that educates on death. Who told her? Well, it was a deceased pope, of course. Listen to our interview to hear this fascinating story.
When I asked Julie if some people don't believe this or think it's too crazy, she said, Yes, of course. But it's not my job to convince them." I love her confidence, conviction and commitment to help others understand the dying process and be comforted by her knowledge.
