Deborah and David are seasoned directors and corporate spokespersons with years of experience in both the entertainment industry and the corporate world.
DEBORAH SHAMES:
Before co-founding Eloqui with David Booth, Deborah was an award-winning director in film and TV. She founded Focal Point Productions, the only female-owned production company in the San Francisco Bay Area, which she led for 15 years.
Deborah has directed luminaries like Wendie Malick, Rita Moreno, Danny Glover, and Angela Lansbury. She also launched three independent films and founded the video distribution company Deborah Films. Today, Deborah is a sought-after keynote speaker and coach at national conferences, focusing on leadership development.
Deborah specializes in working with female executives and preps authors, CEOs, Olympic athletes, and TV anchors before national media tours. She has also worked with celebrities like Demi Moore and on-air talent at major studios. Deborah led a prominent Calabasas business group for 15 years and was honored as “Consultant of the Year” by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal.
Her book “Out Front: How Women Can Become Engaging, Memorable, and Fearless Speakers,” published in 2016, earned her the title of “Author of Influence” by the Women of Influence National Organization.
DAVID BOOTH:
David has represented global corporations at trade shows across the U.S. and Europe. He’s been a spokesman and on-camera narrator for hundreds of training videos in banking, tech, energy, and telecom.
David has guest-starred on TV series like The Practice, Judging Amy, and Gilmore Girls, and played Drew Barrymore’s father in the film Scream.
He designed the Advanced Acting Program at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts and has performed leading roles at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and in the original ensemble of the Berkeley Repertory Theatre. David also served as Managing Director of the Tennessee Williams Center in Key West, FL, and performed the title role in a Tennessee Williams world premiere.
Together, David and Deborah Shames co-founded Eloqui, a business communication and presentation training firm based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They’ve translated performance techniques from the entertainment industry for business professionals, using the latest research in cognitive science and impression management to help you be memorable.
Their latest publication, “Briefly Speaking,” is a 3-book set covering everything a speaker needs to succeed. These tips are the result of 22 years of coaching, training, and keynote speaking across various industries. Expected launch: Fall 2024!
