*Wellness Artist* Leslie earned her B.M. in Clarinet Performance and the Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, an M.M. in Clarinet Performance from Florida State University, and a Master’s in Music Education from Boston University. She is a former member of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Moscow Ballet, Miami Opera, Spoleto Festival, and many more. Her international credits include solo and chamber music performances in Brazil, Yugoslavia, U.K. and Italy. She has premiered several contemporary works for clarinet including her most recent premier of Thomas Flaherty’s “Reading the Scales.” She is currently the Director of the Student and Affiliate Program for the Assisi Performing Arts Festival, an annual chamber music festival held in Assisi, Italy. Leslie’s composition “A Flower Triptych” is a three song set for SATB choir, published in 2021. Her original composition “Clarimetrics” is available on Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming platforms. A music teacher for the Walnut Valley Unified School District, for 23 years, Leslie has built an award-winning band program at Chaparral Middle School that has received national recognition. Under her direction, the Wind Ensemble has performed at the Kennedy Center, Chicago Symphony Hall, Segerstrom Auditorium in Costa Mesa, Davies Hall in San Francisco, and will perform at Boston Symphony Hall in 2024. Leslie has also been a tireless advocate for arts education in her district, writing grants that resulted in several ongoing elementary arts programs that thousands of children continue to experience. Leslie studied Reiki with Sarah Stockham in 2021, earning her Master Level Certificate. She is a certified meditation leader and a graduate of the “Live Your Vision'' spiritual life-coaching program. She is currently working on her sound therapy certification through the International Sound Therapy Association. Leslie’s own challenges with Hashimoto’s, her husband’s cancer journey, and relational challenges were a catalyst for her desire to help other women make emotional and spiritual shifts and she created a new business. MusicBliss harnesses the power of sound and music to enhance physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. Leslie’s approach to sound healing combines an intuitive approach with her expertise as a classical musician and composer. Since launching her business in 2023, her original music and meditations have been used at women’s retreats and in facilitation guides for David Benner’s book “Surrender to Love.” Her Saturday Spaces workshop series teaches women to align with their own values and connect with the sacred within and beyond. Leslie offers in-person and virtual, public and private sound baths, Reiki session, and writes music for meditations. Her album, “Meditations,” will be released soon and feature original music and journal prompts for clearing each chakra.
