Sally Jones is the founder of SQS4KIDS, a child safety and trauma informed education initiative grounded in lived experience, professional practice, and decades of work across mental health, education, and disability support. From early childhood neglect and abuse to adult experiences within education, healthcare, and workplace systems, she has lived the realities many professionals discuss but few truly understand. That lived experience, paired with formal training and frontline work, gives Sally a rare and credible perspective that resonates deeply with both professional and public audiences.

Across her career, Sally has worked in psychiatric nursing, forensic mental health settings, education, and behaviour support. She has supported children, families, and individuals whose experiences sit outside neat policy frameworks. Through this work, she identified a critical gap in traditional child protection approaches, particularly those that focus on teaching children who to trust rather than how to trust themselves.

That gap became the catalyst for SQS4KIDS and the Foundation of Trust framework. Sally’s approach centres the child’s internal experience, teaching children to recognise bodily signals, emotional responses, and early warning signs, and to integrate this awareness with clear, age appropriate education around boundaries, grooming behaviours, and consent. The result is a model of safety that empowers children without frightening them and supports adults to respond in genuinely trauma informed ways.
