Over the course of her life, Kim Gross has been on a path of personal and spiritual growth in addition to seeking the larger meaning to life. This began as a child when she felt connected to her Life Force, but fell out of connection as she grew older. Her authentic/true self was not good enough, so she started creating emotional & social masks to cover who she really was. Her masks included performing, perfecting and pleasing. Because of this, her true self became smaller, and her light dimmed over time. Kim began to develop symptoms of anxiety, depression, and overeating; and later in life, she developed an autoimmune disease (Sjogren’s Disease). Kim has spent years studying all types of wisdom teachers, read many self-help books and has taken many courses. As a result of all the healing work that Kim has done, she created 5 steps that help others to feel more empowered, more freedom and joy. She is the founder/creator of the 5-Step Power Pathway. She helps people pleasers and perfectionists who have spent a lifetime of perpetual suffering because they have identified with these patterns. She helps guide them on a journey of self-healing so that they can have more meaningful connections and have the courage to create the life they desire. As a recovering codependent, she helps people to go from perfectionism and people pleasing to powerful. It is her passion and desire to help others to create real and meaningful relationships and create the inner power to "Dare Greatly" as they create the life they desire. Kim is now a life coach and a motivational speaker. She is also the host of the popular podcast “Masks Off For People-Pleasers & Perfectionists” and is a champion for helping people find out exactly who they are behind the masks they wear. She helps people awaken themselves by guiding them to undo patterns, stop living for others, shift their mindset and start healing. Two steadfast companions live within the shadows of trauma: post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and moral injury. As the owner of both, Dave Nordel has an intimate relationship with them and has learned to harness their energy, transform their stories into empathy, and shed light on the importance of understanding these distinct challenges. While sharing his experiences, Dave extends an invitation to connect with him and embark on a transformative path together. Moral injury embodies the psychological and spiritual anguish that occurs when one witnesses or engages in actions that oppose their deeply ingrained moral beliefs and values. While often associated with high-stress professions like the military, healthcare, and first responders, moral injury can happen when individuals confront morally challenging situations.
Dave Nordel is a retired United States Air Force Command Chief Master Sergeant with over 30 years of service. He holds a bachelor's degree in registered nursing specializing in emergency medicine and a master's degree in disaster and emergency management. Dave is a Bronze Star combat-decorated medic and the recipient of the Legion of Merit, our nation's 6th highest military decoration. He operated in Saudi Arabia, Somalia, South America, Iraq, Korea, Japan, and Hungary. Dave grew up in rural Northern California within a dairy farming family. Dave left home at 19 to join the Air Force and ascended through the enlisted ranks to culminate as the senior enlisted leader for all nuclear missile forces in the United States. He has vast experience leading small groups and large organizations and has led city government activities and large organizations as an emergency manager for multiple communities through covid and other disaster situations. Dave is the author of the international best-selling book Giving Back – Life and Leadership from the Farm to the Combat Zone and Beyond. He is an active mentor and speaks to young leaders to aid their development and future successes. Dave is the founder and owner of Max Fab Consulting, providing keynote leadership, organizational growth, and strategic guidance, and he is actively involved in using his journey with PTSD and moral injury to help transitioning veterans and other victims of trauma deal with the condition healthily.

Conversations With a Former Quadriplegic S2E21

After a difficult military deployment, Leland Holgate decided to get some rest & relaxation. There was a boating accident and Leland was left as a quadriplegic. He was told that this could be his condition for life, so he asked the nurses to move his arms and legs. After the first couple of days he started feeling tingles down his mid back and feeling came back to his upper body. It took about 2 months for most of the feeling to come back and to gain the ability to walk assisted. Unbeknownst to him, his physical therapist was using yoga postures to help with his recovery. He was walking normally in about a year.
Following the boating accident and amazing recovery, Leland fell into a cycle of emotional pain, alcohol, and hard street drugs. After a few years, he was introduced to a yoga program. He noticed the more he practiced yoga, the more his pain diminished and his mind focused. Leland knew he had found his calling when he started training to become a yoga instructor. Further down the line, he became a 500-hour E-RYT, Fitness instructor, and also became a trauma informed yoga instructor, working in somatic based therapies with Trauma Recovery Yoga. For about the last 5 years, he has helped create space for others to find themselves and overcome physical & mental limitations through yoga.
Although Leland knew he was on the right path, the challenges didn’t stop. In 2016 his military father committed suicide and became part of the over 22 of our servicemen and women who take their lives every day. He decided that it was his calling to show our military brothers and sisters how to find balance, and transition back to civilian life after military service. So he created Warriors for Life America. A non-profit concentrating on bringing balance back to the lives of our Military, Veterans, and first responders. Leland is excited to make a difference and he loves to add value to others’ lives.
In 2019, Leland was in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Thankfully, in 2017 a friend gave him the book “Becoming Supernatural”, and it changed his life. He practiced the pineal gland meditation every morning, and did at least 2 to 3 blessings of the energy centers. Within two weeks he was able to move his toes slightly, and move his legs with assistance. Leland was released home, and began the process of physical therapy. After almost 7 months, Leland was able to walk with assistance. Within a year of the accident, he was able to walk unassisted, so he got back to yoga and normal activities. Since that time, he has dedicated himself to helping others do the same, and introduce everyone he knows, and come into contact with, to Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work. We have helped thousands with our nonprofit, and now with The Willful Warrior we can help many more!

Zak Clayton is the founder of Community Pay it Forward, Community Dare to Care and the PACT Channels. Zak founded Clayton Consulting & Event Planning LLC (CCEP) on June 5th, 2015, after being hit by a vehicle while riding his motorcycle. Friends, family, and small local businesses came to Zak’s bedside and worked hard to assist his family and alleviate the pressure from a bad situation. However, where Zak and his family could not find help was with the resource providers who are bound to a budget. He started to develop a program to aid people who find themselves in trouble after January 1st. With the help of a few great partnerships, CCEP was born.
The Community Pay it Forward Program was created to raise funds for families in emergency situations, children who are sick, injured or need funds for school or church programs, veterans or veteran causes, local nonprofits or 501c3 programs, or private community improvement projects.
Community Dare to Care Outreach & Events is here to assist people with clothing, furniture, housewares, school supplies, and other critical needs with the aid of caring individuals and their donations in the community. Community Cares also offers a list of entertainment options to make events or parties a hit in the community.
Stephanie Simoes is a Senior Director at ONEHOPE Wine. She specializes in fundraising, gifting, private wine events & wine delivery. She works with people & nonprofit organizations to raise donations and awareness for various causes throughout the year. Stephanie provides favors, logo bottles, personalized gift boxes, customized refills & sets up shipping across the United States. What she loves most is that a glass of wine gives back your charity of choice! Stephanie has used ONEHOPE Wine as platform to raise awareness & donations for PANDAS Network the last few years as the condition has directly impacted her children.
Stephanie & Zak conduct a monthly show highlighting smaller nonprofit organizations, in an effort to raise donations, but more importantly to get the word out to more people about their mission. The show is called Community Pay It Forward ONEHOPE Fundraiser.
\Zak & Stephanie met almost two years ago and immediately knew they had the same mission in mind. After their first conversation, they were sure they’d find a way to work together somehow. Not long after, the monthly Community Pay it Forward ONEHOPE Fundraiser mission was created. Since then, they have hosted smaller nonprofits twice a month to share their mission & provide fundraising opportunities through each of their platforms.
Together, they have been able to make a bigger impact!
