Mental Health Matters - Navigating the Workplace with Teresa Wright Johnson
Tune into Choose to Challenge on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 6PM EST airing on e360TV.com and streaming to FB, Roku, AppleTV and SamsungTV. LaWanna Bradford (The Bradford Group/The Bradford Group Consulting) and CEO of TWJME, Teresa Wright Johnson will discuss navigating the mental health journey in the workplace. This month is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month and part of the conversation is to change the narrative around mental health and address critical areas of concern and the impacts on Black and brown communities. LaWanna and Teresa will delve into workplace and business ills such as stressors and micro aggressions that many people of color make. Though traditional places of employment typically have programs such as Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and insurance coverage that one can tap in for mental wellness concerns, very often minorities do not cry out for the help they need. The situation grows graver when the lens is focused on the self-employed ranks. Mental health matters are not just a hashtag, but a clarion cry for everyone to rise and take part in changing the narrative and creating the resources and healthcare pipeline programs for all communities. We must “get loud” about mental health and make the conversation as common place as when we talk about physical wellness. Teresa Wright Johnson is a true community connector and advocate.
