Diane Strand is a serial entrepreneur, television executive producer, speaker, best-selling author, and nonprofit founder whose mission is to break down barriers to employment in visual and performing arts and digital media by creating career pathway opportunities for all.
She is the majority owner of the multi-award-winning JDS Video & Media Productions, producer at JDS Actors Studio and founder of the award-winning nonprofit JDS Creative Academy. Diane is also the Creator and Executive Producer of the show “Spirit of Innovation“ – the first news and information television show exclusively for Riverside County and the founder of Temecula’s annual film festival and digital media competition, DigiFest Temecula.
Diane’s expertise stems from her early career in the Los Angeles entertainment industry, working on hit shows like Friends, Survivor, and General Hospital and producing live events at Staples Center and The Shrine Auditorium.
She left that career behind in 2003 to become an entrepreneur, establishing JDS Video & Media Productions with her partner in life and business, Scott Strand. JDS Video & Media Productions is now an award-winning corporate video company with local clients like Abbott Vascular, the City of Temecula, and Temecula Valley Hospital.
After launching a popular drama club within the Temecula Valley Unified School District in 2010, Diane created JDS Actors Studio, which has now launched more than 100 paid actors into the industry and provided more than 700 students in the Temecula Valley with creative enrichment, self-confidence, and leadership skills through acting classes.
Diane is also deeply involved with the region’s economic development. She currently serves as president of the Southwest Riverside Economic Development Coalition and is a past-executive board member for the EDC of North County, San Diego. Diane also serves on the Women in Business committee for the Temecula Chamber of Commerce and was a founding member of the Women’s Business Center of California and a charter board member of the North San Diego Real Estate Investors. She also works with the Temecula and Murrieta Unified School Districts as an advisor for career technical education on professional video production and acting as a career goal.
