Brendan Meany is a Doctor of Sport and Performance Psychology, educator, and coach. His recent work focuses on implementing high-performance skills in medicine, psychological research and publishing, leadership, and culture development, and optimizing athlete potential. Prior to working in sports and performance, Dr. Meany played college football and earned an undergraduate degree from Winona State University in Minnesota, a master's from Emporia State University in Kansas, and a doctorate from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon.

After his undergraduate education, Dr. Meany played rugby and coached several sports worldwide. Most notably Brendan played rugby in Norwich, England, and coached in South Africa, Argentina, Japan, and as the Belizean Rugby National 7s Director of High Performance and Head Coach. His diverse background in maximizing human performance has significantly influenced his approach to creating intrinsically motivating environments.

Dr. Meany also is an avid yoga practitioner and teaches yoga to all ages and ability levels in person and online. You can find his free life and recorded yoga sessions at UpDocYoga.com. From work, Dr. Meany enjoys spending time with his wife, year-old daughter, and dog, cooking, exercising, playing guitar, traveling, doing home improvement projects, and international rugby.
