Let's Talk About Meth Toxins, S6E60

Kathi McCarty is a passionate advocate and subject matter expert, turning her ""mess"" into a mission educating professionals and individuals to prevent the insidious presence of meth toxicity in our homes and many areas of our lives. After experiencing a serious health event, Kathi McCarty left her successful career in various management roles in lending and banking to focus on her recovery. After her youngest went to college, she decided to rent her family home as a means to offset medical costs and work on her next chapter. What seemed like a sensible solution turned into her worst nightmare when her beautiful home was rented to an individual by an irresponsible and unethical property management company. The tenant turned her house into a meth lab, contaminating her home while putting her neighbors and entire community at risk. Her home was deemed unlivable by state contamination standards, and was condemned by her county. Kathi was shocked to learn there is no homeowner’s insurance check, no FEMA for meth contamination, and generally no government financial assistance of any kind when it comes to meth contamination. Kathi also worked with leaders that “championed state policy” passed in our 2023 legislative session. For more information: https://methtoxinsalliance.com/
